City Championship Recap

Thursday, September 2 2021 - Plainfield City Championship

It is always a great experience to compete against the other Plainfield High Schools. The City Championship is a special event and great way to kick off our Invitational Season.

Tuesday night at Plainfield North was a nigh full of great racing and learning about what we are capable of. The frosh/soph crew kicked off the night with a strong team performance to finish a close 2nd to North. Four different Wildcats earned All-City Honors in the race: Harlan Matson (3rd), Tyler Schick (4th), Ubaldo Rodriguez (8th), and Arnold Arce (9th). Schick, Matson, and Raymond Churchill also all ran lifetime PRs on the night. The race also had 11 guys who completed their first 3 mile cross country race of their high school careers.

The varsity took 3rd behind very strong teams from South and North. Aaron Wyckoff led the way with a 9th place All-City performance. Aaron also ran a lifetime PR. Join Aaron with lifetime PRs were: Jason Zigmant, Josh Kodura, and Aiden Fannin.

Of the 19 guys who raced 3 miles on Thursday at OE, all 19 ran faster at City! A great step in the right direction.

The team is back in action at the Wildcat Invitational on Saturday.
